Slow Food Chicago is now accepting applications for dynamic and committed team players to join our board! Click here to view and complete an application.

Slow Food Chicago is an educational, non-profit organization with the goal of creating a world in which everyone can enjoy food that is good, clean and fair.  We plan and execute multiple events and initiatives year-round, including community garden days, crop mobs to local farms, workshops and taste education classes, farm-to-table dinners, potluck gatherings, and more!

We are particularly looking for new board members to lead in areas of:
-Outreach/Community Relations: lead community outreach efforts on behalf of the Board, including connecting organizations across our various interests, identify opportunities for outreach to broaden and diversify our base of supporters.
-preSERVE Garden: assist with coordinating PreSERVE garden volunteer days, seasonal planning, establishing community partnerships, and creating educational events at the garden. The garden volunteer days are typically one Saturday a month from April through October so Saturday availability is highly preferred. Ideal candidate is an individual with a passion for food and gardening.
-Volunteer Coordinator: Recruit new volunteers, maintain relationships with existing volunteers, manage communication via email and newsletters with this group, as well of day-of event volunteer management.

While other skills are always welcome, these are our most pressing needs at this time. In general, we always need good project managers who can see all kinds of projects through from start to finish. Please be mindful of this while filling out your application and emphasize specific experience in these areas as much as possible.
