Kids speak to Congress about their lunch
This past Saturday at the indoor Green City Market, Slow Food Chicago and Green City Market joined together to get Chicago families in on the act with its Kids Write to Eat event during the indoor winter farmer’s market. Check out some of the great letters:
How can I help Chicago-area kids have better lunches?
- Host a letter writing event at your school or home (see resources section below)
- Call your legislator
- Tell your friends and family – Use two letters to spread the message (What it’s Worth & My Kind of Town)
- Reach out to local PTAs, churches, schools, after-school programs, meet-up groups and partner organizations. Ask if they can forward an email to their networks, or if you can come talk at a future meeting.
