preSERVE Volunteer Day
Title: preSERVE Volunteer Day
Location: preSERVE garden
Description: The black eyed peas, crowder peas, and sweet potatoes are growing quickly in the preSERVE garden—but so are the weeds!
We need your help to eliminate invasive bindweed before it goes to seed (perennial morning glory) and excavate around our new fence so that we can plant the bushes and trees we won through a grant from Nature Hills Nursery.
This is heavy work – bring your strong back and arms!
Date: Saturday, July 16th
Time: 10:00 am – 2:00 pm (come late or leave early- but please RSVP!)
Location: preSERVE Garden, 12th Place and Central Park Avenue, North Lawndale. The Homan/Kedzie Blue Line stop is about a 25 minute walk away.
Details: Lunch and water will be provided. Bring work gloves and a hat, if you have them, and wear sunscreen, clothes you can get dirty, and comfy shoes.
