La Villita Walking Tour
Out tour began at the Little Village Arch on 26th Street, and we immediately immersed ourselves in the vibrant parade of shoppers, stores, murals, and music which make this barrio the hub of Mexican culture in Chicago. We started with pastries at La Baguette, followed by the sights, sounds, and flavors at Aguascalientes (gorditas), La Guadalupana (tamales), La Cremeria Santa Maria (cheso oaxaqueño), Dulcelandia (piñatas), Mariano’s (cowboy boots), finally culminating with lunch at Mi Tierra, (who had room for lunch?)
