Update: want to see what we did? Check it out…
Join Slow Food Chicago and Radical Root Farm on Saturday, April 27 for a crop mob.
Slow Food Chicago will break out the boots and all-weather gear to help farmers Alex, Alison, Huck, and River get ready for the season. We will be doing all things farming and the particular chores we do will depend on the weather this spring. Absolutely no farming skills or background required!
This will be a down and dirty day for all. You will be a farmer for a day. You should be in excellent physical condition to attend this workday. We’ll meet at 9:00 a.m. at the Prairie Crossing Farm. Attendees should be dressed appropriately for cold or warm weather, and for rainy or dry conditions. Bring boots and a sack lunch. We will work rain or shine.
Directions to Prairie Crossing Farm:
The farm is located at 32400 N. Harris Rd. in Grayslake, Illinois, just west of Route 45, south of Route 120, and east of Route 137. Enter Prairie Crossing via Route 45 at Jones Point Rd. and follow the signs to the farm.
This event is limited to 30 people. RSVP now to firstname.lastname@example.org.
