We’re so excited to be teaming up with the Dill Pickle Food Cooperative for their Block Party on September 7th!
Slow Food Chicago will be serving up a BYO-T BLT bar (that’s bring your own tomato!) from 2:30-4:00pm. We’ll bring the bread, bacon and lettuce – you bring a tomato from your garden or from the Logan Square Farmer’s Market next door!
We’ll be there from 2:30-4:00pm, but events are scheduled throughout the day, including performances by Environmental Encroachment and Old Lazarus’ Harp, a family yoga class with Tula Yoga Studio, acupressure and cupping from Five Point Holistic Health, music and demonstrations from Capoeira Angola, and kids activities and voter registration courtesy of the Logan Square Neighborhood Association.
There’ll be grilling all day, so stop by anytime for some free lunch! Some of our favorite local farms and vendors have generously provided food for this event, including Montalbano Farms, The Amazing Kale Burger, Jake’s Country Meats, Mint Creek Farm, Local Foods Grocer & Distributor, City Farm Chicago, and many more.
There will also be lawn games, relay races, a children’s reading corner, chair massages, a pie contest (bring your best pie and win some swag!) and many more opportunities for having a good time on one of the last summer weekends. Swing by on your way to the Logan Square Farmers Market, or just come hang out with us for a couple hours!
