Slow Food Chicago will break out the boots and all-weather gear to help Farmers Alex, Alison, Huck, and River get ready for the season. Join us on July 9th, we’ll be doing all things farming and the particular chores we do will depend on the weather this spring. Absolutely no farming skills or background required!
To sign up, click here or e-mail Rob at firstname.lastname@example.org.

About Radical Root
Radical Root Farm is a small-scale, certified organic vegetable farm in Libertyville, Illinois. They strive to grow nutrient-rich food and believe in the mission of having a more localized, ecologically grown food system. They believe passionately in the art of sustainable and ecological growing of food. We are firm environmentalists and food justice advocates. Our goal is to grow healthy, nutritious food that tastes better and is more nutritious than anything you’ll find that’s been flown in to a grocery store.
This will be a down and dirty day for all. You will be a farmer for a day. You should be in excellent physical condition to attend this workday.
Directions and Details
We’ll meet at 9:00am at the farm (see directions to the farm below). Attendees should dress appropriately, for cold or warm weather, and for rainy or dry conditions. Bring boots and a sack lunch. We will work rain or shine.
