Slow Food Chicago volunteers will be heading out to Vegified Growers on Sunday, July 20th to help harvest and cure garlic! We’ll meet at 10:00am at the farm (see directions to the farm below). To sign up, please click here or e-mail email@example.com.
What to Bring
This is physical work so you’ll need to be in very good physical condition. Dress for the weather. If the weather has been wet recently, bring mud boots to get to the field. We will be walking on a low road that goes through a wetland area and it can be a muddy walk to the field. Bring work gloves, you will be using shovels and pitchforks to pry under the garlic and pulling the garlic up by the leaves.
Attendees should dress appropriately, for cold or warm weather, and for rainy or dry conditions. Bring boots and a sack lunch. Please bring a sack lunch.
