With final harvest, cleaning, and preparing beds for the winter, the end of the year is an especially busy time for farmers! Join Slow Food Chicago at Growing Home on Saturday, November 5th from 9AM-Noon to pull tomatoes and get beds ready for the winter.
In this workshop, we'll discuss breads and pastries made from three Ark of Taste wheats – White Sonoran wheat, Purple Straw wheat and Turkey Red wheat.
Learn more about how to keep bees and why they're so important to our food system. This workshop will be led by Slow Food Chicago board member Naaman Gambill, who is the head beekeeper for Westside Bee Boyz and founder of The Hive: Chicago's Beekeeping Supply Store.
Join Slow Food Chicago at The Pie Patch certified organic farm on Saturday, October 22nd from Noon-3PM to prep the raspberry patch for winter, renovate walking paths, turn compost, and pre-dig sweet potatoes!
