Summer Solstice

  • Christy Webber Landscapes 2900 West Ferdinand Street Chicago, IL, 60612 United States

The longest day of the year is approaching and we are celebrating at our annual Summer Solstice Celebration! Enjoy the extra hours of sunshine at the Sweet Summer Solstice Potluck hosted by Slow Food Chicago and the Chicago Honey Co-op on June 19th!

We're celebrating the solstice on Father's Day... yes, you're welcome for the reminder. Bring the fathers in your life along to enjoy delicious food, wonderful company and a tasty local brew! The pot-luck is family friendly -- we'll have games and farm animals to entertain even our smallest friends.

A highlight of our calendar every year, the Summer Solstice Potluck is a community picnic at Rancho Verde, the LEED-certified headquarters of Christy Webber Landscapes.

We'll provide a main course and beverages, you can bring chairs or a blanket, and a potluck dish for sharing – salad, side dish or dessert.

Tours will be offered of the Chicago Honey Co-op bee-hives installed on the green roof, or just mingle, play games, craft, take a swing on the swing set, pet a miniature donkey or feed the goats -- it's a great family-friendly event!

We'll also be pouring beer, wine and a special summer cocktail provided by Fig Catering.

Plus, a raffle where you can win dinner, beer, and other fantastic treats.

Proceeds will benefit the Chicago Honey Co-Op Training Center and Slow Food Chicago's programming, such as the PreServe Garden, a community based garden run with our partners the Honey Coop in North Lawndale. We harvested over 500 lbs of produce last year for folks in the community.
