"Raise the Barn" Crop Mob at The Pie Patch

  • The Pie Patch 5045 South Laflin Street Chicago, IL, 60609 United States

Join Slow Food Chicago and Advocates for Urban Agriculture at our fourth "Raise the Barn" crop mob at The Pie Patch - Chicago's first organic you-pick fruit farm in the Back of the Yards neighborhood!

The Pie Patch is a pick-your-own farm, growing perennial fruits and annual vegetables traditionally used in pies such as strawberries, apples, pears, plums, raspberries, rhubarb, sweet squash and pumpkin, sweet potatoes and concord grapes. Yum!

The Pie Patch was founded by Breanne Heath, a long-time friend of Slow Food Chicago and a 2014 Terra Madre delegate! We'll be helping Breanne get things in good shape for the growing season (strawberries are a-plenty!) - we'll likely be weeding and helping with other farm maintenance, so be prepared to get a little dirty and make some new urban ag friends in the process.

See you at the farm!
