May Food Book Club : MCA In Progress, Food + Labor

Join us for a very special food book club edition. We will be meeting at the Commons, the public space on the first floor of the Museum of Contemporary Art on Tuesday 5/1 at 6pm. In this unique panel discussion, members of the Slow Food Chicago board will be joined by Midwest Ark of Taste Chair and food and culture writer and educator, Jennifer Breckner. We will be reflecting on Paul Robert's book The End of Food. Questions surrounding sustainability and nutrition will spark conversation about our current food systems and their design along with a demonstration of heirloom foods currently on the Ark of Taste, a living catalog of endangered varieties of biodiverse ingredients. This book club meeting coincides with museums opening of Ecomonopoly, addressing the use of green space and food and land by artist Joan Giroux
