2016 was an incredible year for Slow Food Chicago! We are so grateful for all of you for your enthusiasm and participation towards a good, clean, and fair food system.
Here's a snapshot of Slow Food Chicago's 2016 by the numbers:
- 7,628 Twitter Followers, 5,380 Facebook Fans, 5,045 Instagram Followers
- hundreds of heirloom tomato seedling varieties that found new homes with gardeners around Chicago
- 19 delegates represented Chicago at Terra Madre Salone Del Gusto in Turin, Italy
- 17 local farmers and producers featured in Farm Roast menu items (many of which included Ark of Taste ingredients)
- 11 preSERVE Garden Volunteer Days
- 9 new board members
- 7 Blog Profiles of local producers, farmers and chefs
- 7 Food Book Club Gatherings
- 4 Instagram Takeovers with local producers, farmers, and chefs
- 4 Crop Mobs of volunteers to help out local farmers for a day
