2018 was an incredible year for Slow Food Chicago! We are so grateful for all of you for your enthusiasm and participation towards a good, clean, and fair food system.

Here's a snapshot of Slow Food Chicago's 2018 :

  • Increased our social media reach to : 7,590 Twitter Followers, 5,746 Facebook Fans, 5,696 Instagram Followers

  • Sold hundreds of heirloom tomato seedling varieties that found new homes with gardeners around Chicago through our annual Tomato Seedling Sale

  • Welcomed 19 local farmers, mixologists and producers featured in Farm Roast menu items (many of which included Ark of Taste ingredients)

  • Published Blog Posts highlighting our programming in action

  • Hosted 12 preSERVE Garden Volunteer Days

  • Welcomed 6 new board members

  • Hosted 4 Food Book Club Gatherings on topics ranging from “fair” food, “slow” food and the art of crafting “flavor” in food.

  • Sponsored 23 delegates representing Chicago who traveled to Turin, Italy for Terra Madre Salone Del Gusto

  • Partnered on 3 Farm to Fork Dinners with our hosts, La Scoula at Eataly Chicago -Terra Brockman/Author of Seasons on Henry’s Farm, Paul Fehribach/Big Jones, Ali Cole/Farinata Project
